Loving February is on it's way

Hi everyone. I am so excited to let you all know that I'll be at the Western Park in Vernal Utah on VALENTINES DAY.  I have a booth at the Women's Day Out event and it will be located in the foyer.  So please come by and visit me.   I'll have lovely cinnamon rolls there as we'll.
All of our newest items sent from our friends in Uganda will be there. Come check out our new stock of hand beaded purses, aprons, hand clutches, table runners with matching placemats, and necklaces.   I'll only be able to sell them at these two events each year but will have them on hand any time.
Who knows one of these beautiful items may be yours or a gift for a loved one on VALENTINES DAY.  The prices are reasonable and the products are incredibly precious.  Thank you all for your love and support in the past.

ETSY changes

I regret to tell everyone that I have had to close my ETSY account.  Due to taxes and costs to continue, ETSY is no longer an option for us to sell my friends items.  I still have the items and am always available to contact should you want to purchase an item.  Thank you all for your support.

A New Year

2015

I love the sense of a fresh start that a new year brings to heart.  I'm so excited to show you all of the new items on my ETSY shop. (The little brown purse)  Christine has been working hard and has sent some beautiful items.  

The past year brought a lot of new challenges and growth, for which I'm most grateful for. That sounds crazy I'm sure but I appreciate a loving God who allows us the freedom to chose and to grow through choices. There are so many less fortunate than we are but what can be done? 

What will the coming year hold for me and for you?  How will we choose to respond to life and to others?  I love the following quote:

A woman knows within her heart the joy of helping, serving, and loving.  As we observe and then serve our capacity to love increases and our circle of friends and sisters grows.  I challenge all to consider what gift you can give to another in need throughout the year 2015.  Whether small or big, we can lift others.  May it be said of us, His daughters, 

“She hath done what she could.”

Meet Anita

My name is Anita. I live in Uganda,Kampala in a place called ntinda. 

 I have 4 sisters and one brother. We are 6 children and we all 

grew up with our mother. She Provides and still provides for the family. 

Our mother is a market peddler who deals in onions,garlic and ginger.

I recently was married to a return missionary.  

I send my love to you all and am grateful.

Meet Christine

My name is Christine a national of Uganda, Africa. Residing in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Uganda is located in the Eastern part of Africa bordered by South Sudan to the North, Kenya to the East, Tanzania to the South and Democratic Republic of Congo to the West.

Early in the  year 2014, I had a wonderful opportunity to be part of ‘A Sewing Skills Training Class’ taught by a sister missionary.  The class was held for 2 months with the help of a donation of Sewing Machines and several fabrics from the Young Women of Roosevelt, Utah, USA. The new skills that I obtained from this Sewing Class rekindled my desire to restart my handmade items’ project that had stalled for 2 years.  I then became actively engaged in making handmade items such as Beaded Bags, Aprons, African Cloth Bags, Paper and Bead Necklaces, Clutch Purses, Place mats (table runners), Linen Napkins.

The making of handmade items with an African touch has always been one of my greatest desires. I am married to a wonderful husband, and we have a loving baby boy who is 16 months old. The making of these handmade items has brought us even closer as a family since my husband is always willing to help me in making of several of the items and the income realized from the sale of the handmade items greatly helps to supplement our young family’s income.

Dear readers am also proud to let you know that I and my family are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints  and would like to leave with you my humble testimony that,  I know that God lives and that Jesus Christ is his beloved Son.

Meet our Designers from Uganda

Gurtrude is an amazing accomplished woman with a strong testimony of Jesus Christ.

I want to introduce some of the women living in Uganda who have and will be adding their handmade items to our ETSY store.  So, here is Gertrude:

I am Gertrude, I was born in the central part of Uganda Called Luweero. I am the last born of nine children.

I lost my father on the 21st July 2012. My mum is still living.

My Family moved to another area (Jinja) during the mid 1980's due to a war that broke out in our area.
 Around Dec,1999, I went and served a mission in Tanzania. It was great a experience for me and it will be for the rest of my life,I am glad I made that decision. I have had my niece serve a mission and my nephew is serving a mission now in Ghana. It is my prayer that more of my family members join the church. My husband is a returned missionary too.

 After my mission, I joint the university and obtained a degree in Business Administration ( Majored in Accounting) and also hold a post graduate diploma in Project planning and management.

I am Married, we were sealed in the Johannesburg temple and we are blessed with two  beautiful children. I had a Miscarriage in between and it gave me some serious complications but the Lord was with me through it.

I have served in different calling - I served as a teacher in Institute and Seminary classes, as a teacher and counselor at branch level in Relief society. I have served a stake relief society president and stake young women president. Currently i am serving as  a teacher in Relief society.

I love being in service of my fellow being, I have learned that as a teacher, I get to be taught the more and develop love for those i teach.

I know that Father lives, Jehovah is His son, I know he died for all us that we may prepare and return to live them. I know the prophet Joseph Smith saw God the father and Jesus Christ and that he is the prophet of the restoration. i know that we have a living prophet today who receives revelations and guides our day. I know we will be saved through the Savior grace after all we can do. I love my family and I know that families are eternal.
